Happy Birthday Prince

Joy In Repetition - Prince

He's an obvious influence to the guys in Tendaberry and the folks here at Trivial Design. He's a master songwriter and musician, the most underrated guitarist ever, and just damn cool. There are artists you can listen to often and you're fine with that, other artists you can listen to daily and you have no problems. With Prince you can listen to his music all the time, anytime, because his repertoire is so diverse there is something for everybody at anytime. If you don't listen to Prince you don't listen to music.

So if by chance you read this your purply highness, we need someone to produce the L.P. and take us on a national tour... How much more begging do we have to do?

Tenda Berries Make Fine Wine

On Trivial Design, the gentlemen and myself bring a plethora of musical knowledge to the forefront for the enjoyment of the masses. It ranges from us speaking about obscure 80s groups, to the newest metal group moshing it's way through the music scene. It's not only entertaining but educational.

Not to pigeon hole ourselves as just a music blog, we wanted to expand our blog-a-sphere horizons are write about other various subjects that we hold near and dear to our hearts; therefore, we are creating a post called "Tenda Berries Make Fine Wine" (this is subject to change if you can come up with a more fluent and catchy title). It shall be about actresses, writers, singers, and other members of the fairer sex that are making productive strives in their respective industries.

This particular post will be a double feature. The first dedication goes to Megan Fox. She has been compared and often referred to the next generations Angelina Jolie. This 22 year old has been recently thrust into the mainstream limelight due to her role in as Mikaela Banes in the movie Transformers. She has also been featured in other films such as Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, and How to Lose Friends and Alienate People. Megan has also been dubbed in 2008 as FHM's "Sexiest Woman on the World". Viewers will be paying close attention to her as she reprises her role in Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen due out June 24th, which will be one of the summers biggest blockbusters. Even with the Angelina comparisons, she is becoming a star in her own right.

Another tour de force in the film industry is an actress named Zoe Saldana. Some may know her as Nick Cannon's love interest in the movie Drumline or as the daughter of Bernie Mack in the comedy Guess Who. This New York native bodly plans on going where no man has gone before in the feature film Star Trek, which is released on May 8th. She will take the U.S.S. Enterprise to new heights and will give Trekkies more to believe in out their in the universe.

If anyone has any suggestions on whom shall grace the next post, we are open to suggestions. these lovely individuals all deserve praise for their accomplishments and what they bring to the table. On that note, there is only one song that could be played to finish this off..."A Girl Like You" by Edwyn Collins! Thank me later.

Commanding Seduction...

Many comedians have joked about a certain R&B legend's fiery imperative statements for years... That legend's name is Teddy Pendergrass. After speaking to women throughout the years, he seems to have been a joy to obey. Armed with a velvet baritone voice, words actually come off smooth until that climactic part of the song where he kindly shouts, "Come here, woman!" Almost each one of his greatest hits house commands, whether in the song title or verse. Song titles like "Come On and Go With Me," "Turn off the Lights" and "Close the Door" are shining examples. Oh Teddy, you sly, sly dog. You were "trying to take control of the love," and it worked. Not only have you made millions of women swoon throughout the years, you also managed to influence a post punk soul band. Kudos to you, gent.

A sample for your eyes and ears...I suggest you do what he says...

And for you true Teddy fans... A side of Teddy few may remember... We cannot be upset with you, Teddy. The way you segued your position as the drummer of Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes into the lead singer position is classic! Besides, it was 1973...

Reunited...and it feels so good!

It took us a while but we finally got something we've been waiting to see. Our friend Ariel T. took a couple of pics of the band to and from our performance at Little Kings back in January, and we're putting a sample of them up. She was kind enough to also record a some video footage of us playing "Prophets". <----- link

We've awaited this moment for a while because our keyboardist and vocalist, Shane (The gentleman to the right of this picture), was taking his winter vacation from law school. It was good to have the full band back together. As soon as he graduates, the keys will become apart of the norm once again. Check out the video link.

"You Give Love a Bad Name"

Hello Ladies and Gents! My name is Maximus James Longfellow-Bentington and I will be your host for this post. As you know Trivial Design is the blog for all future Tendaberry post. You'll have a chance to see and hear about our music, but we will talk about various other topics such as our favorite bands, movie reviews, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon , and the list will go on and on.

Earlier we asked our friends on facebook what the actual name of the blog should be called. We heard a little bit of everything as a response. One of the best ones I read was from Mr. Parris saying "TendaberryJuice (new posts are freshly squeezed)". I don't think anyone could argue with that slogan. It pulled me right in at least. Longshire said "Tendaberry Crunch
(To Be the Man, You've Gotta Beat the Tendaberry)" I enjoyed this one as well because to the reference to Captain Crunch and Rick Flair (Wooooo!!!).

Here are some of the other suggestions:
Tendaberry Jam, Tendaberry Bush, Tendaberry Sqush, tendaberry sound, tendaberry mine, tendaberry sunset, tendaberry sky, Tendaberry coke, Tendaberry M.D., Tendaberry pit, TNDAB, Tendaberry lotion/cream, Tenda-pain, Tendaberry pie, Tendaberry shortcake and Tendaberry Smoothie

Thanks to our friends for creating such inventive names. These suggestions will probably show back up in the future.

Now go tell all you're friends you're friendly neighborhood Tendaberry has a blog now and if you have any advice, creative critiques, ideas you want to share, just let us know. Retro vid! *Jersey fist pump*
